Nano - Day 27
Nov. 27th, 2006 12:36 amAnother good day. I've started pulling down nearly 3K a day now. I don't think there's much doubt that I'll cross the finish line with the necessary goods. It's not 12:30 AM yet. I still have several more hours to work before calling it quits for the day. With only 5K more needed, I can spit to the finish line from here. That takes most of the pressure away, so I can concentrate on improving the novel during these last few days. I'm still working on Chapter 13 which has grown to a massive 9200 words, and I'm still not finished. Obviously, the chapter should be broken up into three or more pieces, and perhaps I'll do just that and post the results, although I really wanted to include another episode continuing the Moses thread first.
Oh, well. Victoria Lockesley (Vadoma Lasaci) has become a major character, even larger than Fischer, so the present version is unbalanced in the extreme. How I'll reach a compromise, by cutting back on Victoria, or expanding the others, is something I'll worry about later. Right now, Victoria has been telling me her story, and I'll continue to write it all down until she's finished. It's undisciplined writing, of course, but that's what Nano should be, following your creativity wherever it leads. There's plenty of time for good housekeeping later. Never get off a galloping horse has always been good advice.
