This story has taken a curious turn. I'm not sure I like the new direction. It just popped into my mind, and so I decided to take it for a ride. The character of Matt Fischer isn't really essential to the main plot of the novel; he could be rather easily removed with minimal damage. Among the themes I wanted to explore were those of revenge and redemption, so I suppose I decided to throw a little mud in the direction of Moses. We'll see where this goes...
